Our 40th Anniversary Celebrated in Style

On September 1st, the River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions partied like it was 1975 in celebration of its 40th anniversary. Members and spouses dressed for the occasion, showing up at River Hills Country Club in 70’s attire, and dancing the night away.

We were honored by recognition from many important guest,s especially our local State Senator Harvey Peeler, State Representatives Tommy Pope and Ralph Norman, our District 2 County Councilman Bruce Henderson, Past Lions District Governor Charlene Frye and Lions District Governor Rev. David Dority. We received citations from Governor Nikki Haley, Lions International and the Lions District and these appear in the “About Us” tab under “History and Awards”.

The Club has grown significantly since its inception, and so too have its contributions to worthy causes. Through various projects its 165 members raise approximately $100,000 annually for some 35 charitable organizations including a significant amount to the River Hills/Lake Wylie EMS. Members also contribute time and effort in health screenings, school mentoring and reading programs.
