Once again the River Hills/Lake Wylie EMS service was a winner at the annual Lions Club Benefit Dinner at the River Hills Country Club on October 4th. 117 diners paid $80 each for a dinner of steak and salmon, and the opportunity to bid on an assortment of items in the live and silent auction. Among the auction pieces up for grabs were wine baskets, bonsai trees, condo rentals, Panthers and Hornets tickets, an autographed Steve Smith shirt, an airplane ride, a restaurant bundle, jewelry, fine china, a tea service, artwork and much more. Tindol Ford Subaru Roush of Gastonia was the primary sponsor.
It was a fun, spirited event as patrons willingly parted with their money for items they may or may not have needed in order to help fund an organization that is very much needed. For over 30 years the EMS has been a vital asset to the citizens of York County, particularly the Lake Wylie and Clover areas. And as the area grows, its services are needed more than ever.
