The Lions Strutters walked for a cure in the JDRF Charlotte Chapter Juvenile Diabetes Walk on April 21st at Carowinds. At the event we met some old friends and fellow supporters.
The Watts from Tega Cay Lions Club were there and Jake’s Jaywalkers had another strong showing. If you recall several years ago the Lions Strutters walked in honor of Jake shortly after he had been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. Early reports indicate that there were over 6000 walkers at the event in Carowinds. River Hills Lions Club is very close to it’s financial goal for the 2012 Walk for the Cure.
River Hills Lions Strutters along with more than an estimated 7,000 others, gathered at Carowinds to help raise money for the 22nd annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk to Cure Diabetes. The $ 1.3 Million Goal is well within reach according the the Charlotte Chapter of JDRF. Our Lions Strutters team has participated in the Walk & Fundraising for several years and has been honored as one of the top 10 teams every year since we committed to this debilitating cause of vision and other health problems.
