Judy Brown Recognized as 2014 Unsung Hero

The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club Unsung Hero Award is presented to  individuals whose volunteer efforts have made a difference in our lives and our community. Judy Brown is one of those hard working, highly dedicated individuals.

This Unsung Hero has served on the Board of the Clover Area Assistant Center for several years, including a six-year stint as chairperson for the annual CAAC Gala, a special event of live and silent auctions that has generated thousands of dollars for CAAC.

Judy is especially active in the River Hills Community Church, too, serving on the  Fellowship Committee, Care and Kindness Committee, Bereavement Committee, and others. In addition, she has worked on the Church Fall Bazaar and for several years was involved with the Vacation Bible School.

Her volunteer efforts have also taken her abroad, on a mission trip sponsored by the Kenya Orphanage Project, where for several years she has helped raise funds and materials for the Orphanage.

Here at home she is past President of PEO (Philanthropic Education Organization) and organization assisting young women in obtaining a college education. Without doubt, Judy is a true community hero.
