Lion Jim Barbare has served in several capacities in his short time of being a Lion. It was just four years ago that he served as the first president of the newly formed Blue Ridge Lions Club, the first new club formed in the state in over 5 years at that time. Blue Ridge Lions Club is a Centennial Year chartered Club. After his year as president, he handed the reigns over to his successor, only to be tapped by the district to become a zone chair.
Lion Jim has also served as Membership Coordinator of 32-S GMT. During his time serving in that capacity, he helped form a new club in the Gaffney area and developed the annual Governor’s Cup, which is awarded to the 32-S club adding the most members in a fiscal year.
Lion Jim is married to Lion Hope Barbare and is the father of three Lions–Brian, Lindsey and Trent. He continues to work in the graphics industry with over 45 years in the book printing industry.
